Jewelry Design II: Earrings with Wire Turning & Wrapping.
Sunday, March 25, 11:30AM-1:30PM
Celebrate the change of season by creating something wonderful for yourself. Earrings can make your outfit, change your attitude, make you feel pretty and sexy! Peggy will cover earring design in detail; balance, color, earring lengths, and more. In this class this you'll learn wire THE wrapping technique to create closed “eyes” or “links”, as connections. This is one of the most important techniques you can learn for jewelry design! These closed connections will allow you to securely fasten charms, bead focals, or other items to earring hooks as well as to each other, creating short length earrings or connecting beads and charms for longer earrings. Chandelier earrings will be discussed as well. Students will have several style choices to base their own designs. A variety of charms, beads, semi-precious stones, cultured sea glass, focal pieces, adornments, and more will be available to students in class for designing 2 pair of earrings, all supplies included. In Jewelry Design III this closed connection technique is used for creating mixed media pieces.
$45. All supplies included, (focal pieces, head pins, beads, earring wires, and more). One, 2 hour session. Skill Level: All, ages 15 and up. Students should bring glasses if necessary to see small holes in the beads.
